GenieWidget.apk Is Installed And Semi-functional On CyanogenMOD 4.2.8 on G1

RP1783 of the AndroidSPIN team has successfully managed to get one of the APK’s from the HTC Nexus dump installed and running on CyanogenMOD 4.2.8.

 

The GenieWidget.apk has been installed and is semi-functional on CyanogenMOD 4.2.8 and is providing both news and weather in the application itself.  The widget component will so far only give the weather.

 

The superstar of our team, RP1783 has modified both build.prop and build.trout.prop files into fooling the applications that they are running on a different version of the OS.

    i have been running the geniewidget on my G1 with cyan’s 4.2.9.1 and it runs fine — weather and news. i am surprised to see people having problems and saying the widget doesnt work well or just the weather works.
