HTC never sits still as far as releasing new products, and the same goes for the software they put on them. We started with the base Android UI and then came HTC Sense and now a minor update with more of a manila feel has appeared codenamed Espresso.
The screen shots below are taken from an update for the GSM based HTC Hero. It’s built around Android 2.1 with the Espresso UI running.

I don’t believe this is 2.0… the lock screen is 1.5, any build of 2.0 or 2.1 i’ve seen has been a different lock screen than that one. That build looks very much like a modified build I’ve seen at xda-developers.com of HERO 1.5 with some glossy icon mods.
