Google Support or Not – You cant get help!

Reports are coming from all over the Internet about huge numbers of problem reports for the Google Nexus One phone.  I can’t confirm if they are all valid problems or not but I can confirm that it’s almost impossible to contact google via any means except email or the support forums.

Don’t they get it!  They are now supporting a different type of product.  This isn’t another google application, it’s a critical piece of hardware that most people rely on everyday of their lives.

One of the major complaints that keeps appearing is the poor 3G performance.  Hundreds of people have reported issues with 3G connectivity and performance.  People have posted having T-Mobile G1′s sitting next to their Nexus One and the G1 gets a strong 3G signal where the Nexus One has none.

The other major complaint is the ordering system Google has implemented.  Customers who are long standing T-Mobile loyalists are complaing that even though they are eligible for a discounted phone purchase, the Google ordering system is rejecting them.

So for those of you who you who need more immediate support, I did find a post that stated Google’s support number as being 888-216-4736. I tried the number and it turned out to be HTC’s technical support number.  Better than nothing I guess!

For those of you experiencing any issues with the Google Nexus One, we’d love to hear about them in our Google Nexus One support forum.

  2. This sounds like FUD. I well remember the day I unwrapped my iPod Touch…and had to connect to a PC with iTunes to activate it.

Was there anyone from Apple on tap to help me out?

    No.

This looks like a disinformation campaign to flatten sales.

Looks very much like a smearing campaign. Take a note how many of those messages are written by “Spherical Puma”.

If it is a smearing campaign it would be interesting to find out who or which company launched it.

  5. Most of the support posts I’ve seen have been barely literate whining retards but no doubt the anti-Google press will have a field day with it.
My Nexus One rips the hell out of my G1, performance-wise – but I’m in the UK where the networks are decidedly less craptabulous than the ones in the States.

LoL..yeah im a cheapO and want a nexus but 529 up front is steep, i’m eligable for an upgrade (at least i thought) i called tmo but they said they only cover the plan not the phone but there isnt anyway to talk to someone about questions just email. So looks like for now my g1 stays unretired

First off this is crazy I’m on my nexus one now typing this and have had no 3G issues at all and Google already made comments about upgrades for tmo members coming like Jan. 22 its coming guys relax its been out for 4 days chill it was also a soft launch… how many TV ads did you see?

  8. Davis

I saw a few ads actual for the Nexus One, where as the G1 had absolutely ZERO ads when it released.

  9. Does any of us currently have anydetails? I am stating my assumptions based on earlier track data(the closest thing to facts that anybody has right now) so, concerning the Nexus1, that dropped first within the USA so, not really the same and as far because the HD2 it doesn’t issue how lengthy it took the level is it’s still coming to T-Mobile USA, so (IMHO) this cell phone will head to T-Mobile U.S.A, Thanks. By the way ,nice blog
