, to start my writings out i am thinking rom reviews would be a good place to start. The first rom I’m going to be doing is Eclair_2.1-v1.5 by Manup456 Link To Thread. If anyone would like to suggest a rom please leave a comment on this post and i will try it out, just remember I’m using a G1 soon to have a Nexus or Hero too.

I tried to install this ROM on my G1 (all requirements met) but at first boot, right at the beginning when linking the google account throws an error (… setupwizard something …) and then is stock in a loop to setup your google account, over and over..
My initial setup went fast and easy not sure what error you have there.
I had ZERO problems with the setup as well!
Did you do a complete wipe of everything ?

Try restarting the phone, and use wizard again. If still no success, put it to sleep by pressing the power button, wake the phone and push the menu button a few times, should get you past the wizard. Then try logging into the MARKET and you should be able to login to your gmail account from there. That fixed the same issue I was having. GL

had the same problem myself and manup figured out it’s a memory card problem. reformatting and repartitioning my memory card let it install without the setupwizard loop.
looks like u need to to reformat your sdcard (fat32),,you can do easy nand then repartition like the other fellas are telling you,,,hopefully your running danger spl…its better.,,,if you have also flash amonRA recovery image,,1.5.2….good luck,,im running this rom with less problems than most and ive flashed a lot of roms!!!1,,,,

After that review, you could try to review the other Eclair based roms, like JAC’s XROM. Waiting for your review, since I was planning to try an Eclair rom but still undecided.

I would also like to add this is the best rom yet. I have tried Manups (though I like the startup screen) it seemed terribly laggy and drained the hell out of my battery. This rom rocks, especially with the added reboot option.

Try the Super D ROM by benbuchacher. Amazing! EXTREMELY fast and stable! Best one I’ve used so to date.

i’m also a fan of the super d lately. before that it was always straight up cyanogen. wes’s build is decent too. haven’t tried justanothercrowd’s latest yet, though.
is there a way you can run some speedtests and benchmarks in the reviews, to maybe get a comparison chart going at some point?
