First Impressions
First boot was quick and normal with a slight edit to the normal android boot logo. Setup went without a hitch.Fastest booting rom Ive tested since I got my g1 4 months ago.
Score: 4.5/5
Polish and appeal
Just like any other eclair rom this is full of eclair graphics and a custom wallpaper. with the “Arc” 2.0 lock screen as apposed to the 2.1 “Horizontal”. Droid style clock is a good addition too.
Score: 3.5/5
Stability and Speed
2 Days i have ran this rom and so far it cant be beat. Its like nothing else ive tried not one forceclose this is unreal every other rom has at least one or a lag once in a while Xrom eclair is the exception. Stability is not a issue I tried to crash this and couldnt every time I would just default to the home screen.
Score: 5/5
Force Close Log
- The whole time I used this rom I never had a forceclose
Boot time: 2 minutes 10 seconds
Ratings:
Pre installed app’s, Nothing special SU, Tether apps – wired and no video camera 2/5
Battery Life, Lasted a whole day traveling and using twitter, facebook and browser alot4.5/5
Overall, Compared to Manup456′s rom this is a little more stable. Speeds are very close, normal eclair graphics a very good choice of daily use rom.
Overall Rating: 4/5

Quick question…I’m using Manup456′s Eclair rom and i noticed the music application takes about 3 seconds to change a song as opposed to other roms where its instant. Also the first second of the song plays at max volume, then it goes back to normal. So i’m wondering what the situation is with xRom. Is the music application acting up in this one too? I’ve tried other music players, and they all do it, not just the stock one. Any help appreciated
So i tried this rom because the music app was acting funny in manup456′s eclair rom…
Everything runs great in this one but another bug with the music app, maybe its just me but it plays fine, untill the screen goes to sleep. Then it stops the music and 90% of the time it freezes the screen with the backlight half-on if you know what i mean…and have to reboot. Weird if you ask me

Vodafone Magic 32B
Feels considerably slower than Manup456 Eclair 2.1, 1.5.
Phone set-up FCs at first boot-up.
Locks up a lot.
Youtube does not work – no video, only audio – same as Manup456′s Eclair 2.1
Music player does not support .aac files
Very choppy web scrolling
It is definitely not for this particular device…
Songs change a lot faster on xRom than Manup456’s Eclair, with no more than a second delay.

dont you meant its android 2.0? the link doesnt show it as 2.1
Look in the screenshot of my about phone.
it’s definitely based off of 2.0.1, which is why there’s no horizontal LS.

I have been using xROM since Beta3 and have been using it as my daily ROM. No FCs for me either, the ROM is very responsive and not a ton of bloat. I have tried Manup’s Eclair and was not impressed. It had so many issues on boot that I did not get through my entire review on twitter before giving up and switching back to xROM.
