Good news for those that patiently waited! As for me I’ll continue messing around with 2.1.

New update the subject:
‘The Cliq will be getting 2.x.x soon – as for the G1 and MyTouch, they are working with Google to try to see if they can come up with a release for those two phones, so, no date yet, and no “Yes, we’ll get it”
He said that their notes say that once they have determined that they CAN or CANNOT get a suitable release for the G1 and MyTouch, they will be making an announcement for G1/MyTouch owners indicating such and how to proceed. But at this time, they are still working with Google to come up with a suitable release and are doing what they can to try to ensure (if a suitable release is possible) that we will see something.
So… not the best news (which would be “Yes, we are getting it soon”) but not the worst news either (which would be “No, you wont see it”) – instead, there is still hope (which is “we are doing what we can and are working with Google to try to come up with a suitable release”).”

-f they can get 2.0 as fast as 1.6 with all these speed hacks I’m all for 2.0. But if they can’t make it as smooth as some of these hacked 1.6 roms I’m going to stay away from it. At this time, the only cool feature 2.0 has over 1.6 to me is flash. But its not 10.1 flash so its very limited and until it is 10.1 there really isn’t anything worth the update/performance hit for me. Ill stick with 1.6 until flash 10.1 is out
there’s no reason to think it won’t be as fast as 1.6. most of the 2.01/2.1 roms are based on a 1.6 kernel anyways. the best part of an official 2.x update would be fully working camera drivers.
i’m guessing 2.x will drop within a few months, and a couple days later we’ll have updated roms with all the speed tweaks we’re hoping for.
my understanding is that flash support has nothing to do with the version and more to do with what device you have, at least at the moment.
