Another week has gone by, and much information came our way since last time. So without further delay, here it is:

Hardware News

The tumor-looking Motorola Motoroi is coming to T-mobile. Sounds like T-mobile is ditching the Sidekick for the MyTouch (and this could be it – MyTouch 3g ‘Slide’). Cara gathered some more information on the Nexus One Dock (the word is its pretty sweet)… and it’s available now. Renders of a Motorola MOTOSPLIT started popping up. In more promising Motorola news, a new phone passed through the FCC with T-Mobile bands, giving more hints at the Motoroi. An official fix for the Google Nexus One 3g issues is coming, for those that do not like this work around. The seemingly ficticious looking supersonic (see here) has appeared in real life in some rather blurry shots… More info on its specs here. Our staff believes the Motorola Zeppelin is not going to win any beauty awards. The word on the street is that the Xperia X10 will be coming in not one, but two delicious flavors. Even after being overclocked to a staggering 1300Mhz, the Droid still can’t beat the Nexus One. The Archos 7 Tablet leaks and it is probably better than the MaxiPad. HTC is giving the Legend an aluminum body. Motorola is going to sell a phone directly through Google. Germany got the Galaxy (blah…). The MSI Tablet will be released this year and cost “around $500.” AT&T may be getting the Nexus One. The Milestone will be hitting T-Mobile UK. And over the pond, the Bravo should be at T-Mobile US.

Android OS News

T-Mobile decides Android needs music syncing. MLIGN made a YouTube video to show how to remove a laggy Sense UI and speed up your phone. We got more frustrating news on the Motorola Droid 2.1 OTA Update. Hero users should probably not hold their breath for an official 2.1. Jason discovers information regarding Kernel 2.6.32 running on the Nexus One. Android is getting closer and closer to taking over the world. Motorola leaked an update for the Cliq. An official HTC ROM Upgrade for the Magic adds Sense UI… and then there is a strange MyTouch OTA update

OpenEclair

A group of popular developers are joining forces to bring us OpenEclair. Get even more info here, like who is a part of it, where to keep up-to-date, etc. And it is available in the ROM DB. OpenTeam now has v1.1 RC1 available for testers.

Releases

Enomther releases an update to his TheOfficial Series, now at version 2.5.1… Then he made version 1.4 for the Nexus One. Ctso gives his AOSP 2.1 ROM, dubbed Intension, an update to v1.3.3. Cyanogen made Nexus One users happy with his CyanogenMod 5.o Beta 2 release… and then even happier with Beta 3… And he didn’t forget about everyone else, releasing 4.2.14.1.  Benbuchacher updated his Super “D” ROM to version 1.7. And it’s in the ROM DB. Wes Garner released a beta of WG-Donut Y-2.6 OpenEclair..

App News

Marc ponders why there is an FM radio receiver in most Android phones, but not a single app utilizes it (Then Eugene quickly fixed that). He also sheds some light on graphing your battery usage and provides info on where to find the source code. The first beta of the long anticipated Firefox for Android could be coming as early as February!! Tweetcaster seems to have become Nicholas’s new favorite Twitter app on Android. The U.S. is surprisingly not the highest priced market for Android apps. Nav4All is getting shut down in 3 days.

Other News

Eddie gives his opinion on privacy on handhelds, and VeriSign answers with VIP Access. Northstream released tests for LTE that reached 45 Mbps downlink. The Nexus One appears briefly on Walmart’s website, then was quickly blamed as a “technical glitch.” T-Mobile will not be taking returns on the Fender MyTouch, or any Limited Edition phone.  Ray talks about the coloring process and pricing for pimping your Nexus One. Part one of the HOW-TO cook a rom is over here. Sedio upgraded their store. Android is spreading folks: get Android throw pillows at Etsy. The was a lot of Nexus One drama (more on another post)on Friday. Here is an opinion on whether Android should get his nuts and bolts in a wad over the iPad.
