A reliable source of mine who works for T-Mobile informed me, that we would be seeing the Bravo on T-Mo soon.  No release date, or additional information was given to me.  Just that HTC plans on sending the Bravo to T-mobile at a possible $199.00 price with a 2-year contract.  The Bravo will be running Sense UI which was seen on Hero.  It’s packing a 1GHZ Snapdragon processor with a 3.7″ AMOLED Touch screen display.  It’s also rumored to come with a FM radio tuner.  Hopefully more information leaks out and we get a release date for the Bravo.

  3. I do not understand this move. T-Mobile already has the Nexus One at $179, so why would people spend $199 for virtually the same phone? The Bravo has a better color, IMO, but that is about it. If I want a higher-end Android with T-Mobile, I would get the Nexus One, save $20 and not have to wait several months for the Bravo.

    • The $199 price is a rumored price. Nothing confirmed on that yet. The Bravo in my opinion will operate better then a Nexus, strictly on the fact that it’s running Sense UI. However, you could just root a Nexus and flash Sense UI and most likely get the same performance.

Well, the difference would be if Tmo sells it, then they can let people with family plans buy it discounted with a 2yr contract. I have a family plan and so can’t get the Nexus One unless I shell out $530, which I won’t.

And, if T-Mobile sells it, that means you can go to the store, and try one out.. in hand.. Whether it be a demo dummy, or a live phone. This is the only thing that’s been keeping me from buying a N1.. I need to have it in hand, play with some of the features, and make sure all items on my must have list are present..

AND it is suppose to record in HD!which is a big deal for me.

There’s a lot of reasons why Tmo will want to get this phone. 1) they don’t really carry the nexus one – reason, google sells it, google and tmo just had an agreement on a 180 NEW individual line purchase to subsidize the phone. Existing customers on a non-individual line, can’t even get it at 180. Therefore, this is an understandable tmo move. Nexus one and Bravo are not the same phone. Yes, 3.7″ of screen and same processor. But Bravo doesn’t have the touch sensitive home, search, menu and back buttons. IT has ‘real’ buttons.and Bravo also has no trackball. 2nd difference, Bravo runs 2.x with Sense. 3rd, it supposedly shoots HD. 2) they would want to get this phone because they can subsidize it more.. 199 price for any plans including those in family plans would surely boosts sales. I was gonna get the n1 already for 530 but saw articles of this going to Tmo UK, so i said might as well just wait. Then saw this article today…

I love the Sense UI it has the apps I want already integrated, at least all the Hero ROM’s do. I am not so sure of the nexus one with 3g issue it has. What else is wrong with the thing. Ill pay an extra $20 for it.

  7. Farking bullshite! HTC told me that my company was getting the Bravo! Liars!

Well guys it looks like Sprint is losing ground. I’m sorry. I should have gone to class more often.

MetroPCS has more variety than Sprint now.

    I quit!

This may (maybe), if it comes to t-mobile, have a cheaper plan then the nexus. That, with the sense UI, would be its selling point.

    • Possibly. I can see it having cheaper plans. It might not even be $199. Again that’s a rumored price, I don’t see if going for that much.

What I’m most likely going to do if it hits stores, is pay full price since I have a No-Contract monthly plan for T-Mobile. I wasn’t able to do that with the N1. Hopefully I can with the Bravo.

Yeah, please clarify for this. Was your reliable source referring to T-Mobile USA or somewhere in Europe, i.e. UK/Germany/ect…?

Since Google has pretty effectively screwed over the current T-Mobile customers with it’s restrictive subsidy policies, we need a phone like this in the T-Mobile USA family.

In addition, any chance you could provide a little more specific timing than soon? That’s kind of nebulous. Are we talking weeks? months? 2Q? Can you give us something more concrete?

    • This is what I know as of now. It’s coming to T-Mobile U.S. When I asked about release date, his answer was “in a few months”.
I’m still piling in information on it, and getting more facts straightened out. As soon as I do, I’ll post a more specific article. This was just a “Hey guess what!” kind of thing.

      Details to be continued.

      • enveed05

Nicholas, if your source is reliable then please pass on to him that this is great news, and really, really appreciated by T-Mobile USA customers, especially those that have been screwed by Google on the N1.

        Thanks for the info!

No reason for this not to come to TMO. Remember, the average joes don’t even know of N1′s existence, and N1 is limited to one contract at $180.

  19. I think that this is a good move to T-Mobile. When Verizon released the Droid they also released the Droid Eris which in my opinion was better then the Droid.

All though the N1 and the Bravo did not come out around the same time, the Bravo I think will sell more IF it’s sold directly in the T-Mobile stores and not on Google.com. Which I still think is a bad marketing strategy for Google.

We will see how this thing rolls out soon enough.

  21. I really hope that “in a few months” turns into “in about a month or less” lol cause i’ve been dying to get this phone into my hand since i saw the youtube vid of all the “leaked” phones from HTC for 2010. It was between that and the “Buzz”. But i’m pretty sure everyone and their grandma would choose the Bravo. I was really all about the “if it doesnt have a keyboard its not worth my time since im used to my G1 and spoiled by its 5 rows of keys” but everyone is converting over to virtual keyboards so i guess i’ll just jump on the bandwagon myself.

Yeah hopefully you mean T-Mobile US.

Too many Bravo / T-Mobile UK rumors but nothing else so far referring to the US

I would so get this over the Nexus.

No more white trackballs that get stuck and really dirty looking HTC. Stick with either all touch or trackpad please.

I too have been hoping this will come to T-Mo US. It is the only phone I have seen so far that will make me upgrade from my G1.

I will miss my keyboard, especially when hacking, but so far I don’t see any other alternative I want.

I definitely won’t buy the N1, because I want to try the phone out first before buying it.

Nicholas: Can you ask your source if the Milestone may be coming to the US eventually? I see that T-Mobile UK looks like it may be getting that phone. I haven’t followed this long enough to know if phones like that usually find their way on both sides of the pond, but that one looks about as interesting as the Bravo.

    Thanks again!
