I’ve been running the MoDaCo HTC Sense (Desire) Alpha 7 for the last day and I have to say that it amazingly nice, smooth and fairly stable. There are some minor issues but nothing that distracts from the overall experience.
Paul over at MoDaCo has done an amazing job with this ROM and I just had to post the screen shot above because it’s so cool. I know it’s not the same when it’s not animated but trust me, it’s snowing here and the weather changed to show this. When I wok my phone from sleep mode snow started falling down my screen and creating piles of snow at the bottom. It’s much better when you can see it in real life.
Head over to MoDaCo’s thread and take a look for you self. It’s well worth the download.
If you’ve already got this puppy installed, let me know what you think!!

I’m also loving Modaco’s Desire ROM on my N1. It runs as good as some of the latter hero Rom’s that were running on my MT3G just 3 months ago and its only an alpha build. INCREDIBLE!!!
Simon: How did u get 3G to appear in the notification bar? Mine shows the “H”…thanks in avance.

3g is seperate from hspda, so he just has a faster connection at the moment

It also highlights the seeking issue on the radio when you have this ROM installed. My phone is always switching between 3G and H.
I actually thought the H was the faster connection of the two, but I could be mistaken.
Either way…..It’s fast…
H –> hsdpa is the faster connection, in Austria it goes up to 7Mbit/sec. As far as i know there are test with a downloadspeed of over 40Mbit/sec.
3G means (in Europe) Umts and this is a download speed of 384Kbit/sec.

Yeah, same here. my understanding is that H is faster than 3G.

Hey guys, I don’t believe 3G and HSDPA are different from a ROM perspective. My experience has been that the European ROM’s typically had “H” while the North American ROM’s displayed the “3G”.
I’ve just recently began experiencing 2MBPS (TMobile) using the speednet app but my signal indicator has not fluctuated from 3G or H, just H and E (Edge). Either way…this is a great ALPHA build and am looking forward to BT on MODACO’s ALPHA 8 build which should be released tomorrow.
Thanks guys,
Recondo
