This has been yet another busy busy week. Scroll to the end for our recent columns such as Customization Corner and our staffer’s reviews. Also, go get yourself signed up for Swype Beta because it rocks.

Hardware

The MyTouch 1.2 has been temporarily removed from T-Mobile’s Handset Upgrade Program due to low inventory levels.  Vodaphone announced the price of the HTC Legend (and discontinues the Magic). The Motorola Cliq XT has been spotted with TMO branding and gets its price set (should be out by March 10th). Archos has announced two new tablets, the Archos 7 and the 8 Home. Huawei is planning on releasing T-Mobile’s cheapest Android phone to date in the UK. Innocomm Technology plans on bringing Nexus one performance to the masses for free with the Shark. Rogers is planning on adding another Android phone to their line up. The General Mobile Cosmos appears with a price tag. The HTC Incredible makes yet another appearance. Android OS

Enomther’s G1 TheOfficial gets updated to v2.6.1 (screenshots). Apple sues HTC for a number of patent infringements [more info dug up here] while Google sort of jumps in HTC’s defense [another update]. AT&T goes wacky and replaces Google in Google’s own OS [read Yahoo’s official release here]. A rebuttal to the last statement can be found here. The Droid Eris got a 2.1 dump this week. SuperD will be getting Cyanogen’s 360 degree autorotation. Cyanogen gave the non-Nexus world an update. KiNgxKxKlicK dropped AOSP 2.1 v1.7 this week (and v1.7.1). MoDaCo’s Custom Desire ROM reached Alpha 12 status. Manup456 released his NexDesire remix at version 1.2 this week. A new Passion system dump came out recently (as well as the lame Backflip). The Droid 2.1 update does NOT include live wallpapers. KiNgxKxlicK released DroidEris2G1 v0.1 (screenshots). HTCClay claims to rical SuperD with his fastest ROM to date.

Mods

Check out this video to preview the @ChrisSoyars wallpaper mod [now available in the Market] and the @ChainsDD trackball mod for the Nexus One. Also for N1, the Nexus wallpaper has been modded to Cyanogen blue. Developer @kmobs has pushed the Nexus One with his latest kernel to get in to the Linpack Top 10 [more info here]. Video/3D support is coming to OpenEclair.

Software

Flash 10.1 will be supported only on select devices. Divx support should come with the HTC Desire. Android is gaining a growing number of health applications. Learn how to strike it rich with this Android Market success story. Hootsuite has released their application suite for the Android OS. Google is giving free phones to developers. Biowallet has finally arisen in the Market. The MLB makes its appearance on the Android Market. Google Labs added gesture search. Microsoft released its first Android App, and does Bic . Google Maps Navigation navigates you outside of the US. Newsy has made its way into the Android Market. Adobe like Android and gave us an exclusive app update. Virtual Keyboard app Swype available for beta testing (do yourself a favor and do the tutorial… you will love Swype once you know how it works)

Other

Android decals are available to add to your collection and show those apple decals what’s up. Android is heading to land line phones…. Does any one care? T-Mobile tops a JD Power survey again. The long awaited Google I/O conference has sold out early (any one surprised?). But that is OK: AndroidHackathon is hitting up the SF Bay area next weekend. The lucky folks in TMO’s favorite cities are getting to test HSPA+ for the rest of us. Android gets a sexy bump after the sanitation of another app store.
