Looking like a Nook that was stretched out, Spring Design’s Alex e-reader was supposed to be taking pre-orders now, but due to a hiccup, with the ordering system of all things, release has been pushed back. As of right now, there’s no ETA on pre-sale, but you can expect their delay to be cleared up very soon.

The Alex e-reader isn’t just another electronic book on the market. Spring Design’s device offers web browsing, video and music players, as well as a developer toolkit. The device is expected to retail for around $399
