At AndroidSPIN we are constantly working to improve our site experience for the community and a number of pretty cool enhancements have been made.
We’ve been working for months to enhance the site for you and one of the new additions is the awesome new Mobile View we have created.
When you go to www.androidspin.com from your mobile device, you should automatically see the mobile view:
If you dont see the mobile view, you can switch using the option in the footer of the page. Scroll all the way down to the bottom of the page and click on the Mobile Theme selector:
You will only see the Mobile Theme selector if you’re viewing the site from a supported mobile browser such as the Browser built into your Android device.
The new Mobile Theme allows you to login to the site and view and post comments for an article.
We’ve also been working hard on the the AndroidSPIN Release Database to make it ready for the OpenUpdate project. Complete device relationships between any type of release allow you to narrow down the latest releases by any device type.
Also added is a new mobile view allowing you to quickly and easily view the latest releases in the system from any mobile device.
Another nice feature allows you to narrow down the list using; Device, Base OS or a particular Developer.
The full version of the release database has also been enhanced to show all the compatible devices for particular release. Head over to the Matrix View and scroll down a little to the Supported Devices section.
We’ve had a lot of requests to open up the Release Database to the community so anyone can edit the information and fill out the missing areas or add new releases. While we don’t feel secure enough to open up the system entirely as there will always malicious users who just go and spoil the experience for the rest of us. What we have done is prove an easy way for you to submit missing or new releases with a simple form you can fill out. You can Submit a Release by simply clicking on the “Submit a Release” link on the Green menu bar in the Release Database area of the site.
We are still working to improve the site and we always welcome feedback from the community. Most of the changes added here are a direct result of your feedback.
There are many ways for you to contact us with feedback; You can send us messages using the Contact Us form or head over to the Release Database Support area in the forums.
We hope you enjoy the experience we are trying to create for the community as we continue to listen and ehance the site from your feedback.

For some reason my comment didn’t go through….
Anyways, how hard would it be to implement a password to access certain parts of the release database?
There currently 2 levels of login we can provide to the system:
Admin Login allows you full access to the database. There are some restriction we can apply to an administrator login and we keep enhancing this.
Developer Login allows the owner of releases to maintain their own information.
Every developer is assigned a login when requested but not all the developers use the facility so we have to try and keep it as up to date as possible. With SO many releases out there, this is almost an impossible tasks. We have so many missing ROMs and themes for all the different devices.
If anyone would like to volunteer and join our team to maintain the information, we’d always welcome any help.
As I said in the article, we welcome any thoughts and suggestions and will work hard to implement them.

Very instructive – continue to spread the word. Looking forward to an update. For too long now have I had the need to get started on my own blog. Guess if I put it off any more I will never ever take action. I’ll make sure to include you in my Blogroll. Thanks again!!
