I think you’re actually wrong. This version was NOT beta tested by testers. The one that is being beta tested is 2.0, which is still being tested. This is an interim release done by wesgarner and is intended to ease the tide before the actual release of OE 2.0. The main purpose of this release was to improve speed and fix some outstanding issues with OE 1.2.x.

Can someone explain to me just this once, does this has 2D drivers?
I mean, Donut releases has all drivers due to official release by HTC/T-Mobile etc…
However with Eclair I’m still confused -
Isn’t the driver a single code handling both 2D & 3D?
Is this the real thing stopping Eclair from being switched by many devs?
(all ofcourse related the MT3G/G1)
Thanks!

This was released to satisfy the masses. Parts of the build have been in “beta” for quite a bit, but you are correct, this EXACT version was not beta tested. However, every single part of this build has been in a beta, just for the 2.0 build.
This build was released to replace 1.2.2 as the official build, as you mentioned, because Wes had a lot of features working PERFECTLY, but was still working on getting other ideas implemented and functioning 100% (for the 2.0 build). However, He has been working on this kernel for quite a while, and that is a huge benefit that he finished and included it in this release.
Just to correct myself…..

Did anyone else realize that this release (1.3.0.1) is lacking the voice input. We had it in the previous versions. Was it left out on purpose or what? I hope it is not something on my side alone. I’m on the G1.
