The Sprint Compatible Nexus One Shooting For Early Summer Release

Recently Sprint officially announced their compatible Nexus One and to those anxiously awaiting this release, I have even better news. I just spoke to a Sprint representative which stated that Google’s Nexus One will be compatible with the Sprint Network this summer as he could not give me a set release date due to company policy. Already own this device through T-Mobile or AT&T? Unfortunately, Sprint is a CDMA network which would require a new handset altogether as the device would require a CDMA compatible radio. An implementation that could not be added through software. So a new device is required if you were to switch wireless carrier from a GSM specific network to a CDMA network.

If you are unaware, GSM networks like T-Mobile and AT&T use a SIM card and CDMA networks like Verizon and Sprint have the network implemented inside of the device. Google released the Nexus One (January 2010) to consumers which was only compatible with the T-Mobile network and later (March 2010) made it compatible to the use with At&t’s 3g network.

The Nexus One, which operates on the latest and greatest Android 2.1 platform, will be huge for the Sprint network and is expected before the release of Sprint’s highly anticipated HTC EVO which is already winning the heart and minds of not only current Android users but iPhone and BlackBerry users alike.
