Just a quick update from my review yesterday of the Google Nexus One Card Dock.
It appears there is a software glitch somewhere in the Nexus One that causes weird things to happen when the phone is unplugged form the Nexus One Card Dock. People have reported sound being muted and applications starting on their own.
I read something related to this yesterday and then when I arrived at work this morning and turned off the ignition in my car with my phone still docked in the Nexus One Car Dock, my music started playing all on it’s own. I went into the music application and then into Now Playing and the screen showed nothing was playing. I had to start a song playing and then stop it to stop the song that had started automatically.
I am running a rooted phone with Enomther’s TheOfficial N1 v1.8.1 and I know that people will immediately jump on the “Blame the ROM” bandwagon, but I’m not convinced.
Anybody else having any issues with the Nexus One Car Dock, or any other Dock for the Nexus one?
UPDATE: People are reporting the same issues on the Nexus One Desktop Dock and also when removing the Headset from the 3.5mm socket on the top of the phone.
So it would appear that there is yet another issues to add to the growing list of issues with the Google Nexus One. Come on Google, why are all these problems known about in the community yet no fixes or comments are coming from Google?

This is not a new issue. The same thing happens when I remove my Nexus One from the desktop dock. I have yet to see it happen on the Car Dock but its only been a day.

I’ve had this happen with the desktop dock. I also have this problem when I remove my headphones after having listened to “A Online Radio”. The default music app starts playing MP3 on my SD card.

When my phone sits in the desktop dock and a call comes in, I pick it up to answer it and then music starts playing!!

I’ve read your complaints about the N1, but I’ve got to say I haven’t seen any of those problems on my N1 (knock on wood). I’ve been on 4hr car rides using Navigation without any issues. I don’t have the car dock because my phone already syncs with my bluetooth stereo, but I do have the desktop dock. I have never had my phone randomly start playing music. This sounds more like a few isolated phones more than a system wide issue. Sure people will chime in that they’ve seen the same problems here, but I don’t really read about them anywhere else. I for one love my N1.

I want my phone to be able to express itself. If it wants to listen to Lady Gaga & Beyonce, then who am I to tell it no.

I have both docks and they work great, the N1 and the docks are a great system, and I really like the little exposed flush contacts instead of a plug for power transfer to the device, less wear on the usb port and both docks charge the phone quickly.

I got both docks at once but since then I’ve noticed my N1′s “tick sound” (like when you click an icon or the menu) is much quieter. It’s like 1/3 the normal volume, I can barely hear it now. There is no setting I can find to adjust that and a reboot did not cure it, neither did turning “Audible Selection” on and off.

It’s not just nexus one, it happens on my droid x as well…I would like to uninstall it but it won’t let me.
