Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 to get Android 2.1 in September

People kept asking why such a media centric device as the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 would be shipping with an old version of Android!  I guess it’s because that’s what they have tested and ready and they didn’t want to delay the release.

The device is scheduled to ship with either Android 1.6 or 2.0 but now a Sony Ericsson representative made a public statement and an article published on cellphone-reviews, a UK based cellular news site state that the device will get upgraded in September to Android 2.1 with Multi-Touch.
