This is really a heartbreaking news by Verizon. A long time ago, Verizon announced that they will launch the Nexus One. Everyone was happy and was waiting for the Nexus One anxiously. BGR contacted Verizon on this topic. This is what Verizon said:
We won’t be selling a Nexus One with Verizon, and this is a reflection of the amazing innovation happening across the open Android ecosystem. Verizon Wireless customers who want an Android phone with the power of the Nexus One can get the Droid Incredible by HTC, which can be pre-ordered now and which will be available in Verizon Wireless stores on Thursday, April 29th.
On the Google/phone site. There is a little statement under the Verizon Nexus One section. In the Statement, Google suggest their customers buy a Droid Incredible instead of a Nexus One as shown in the opening picture
So all who were waiting for the Nexus One (me too), now you can change your mind and start waiting for the Droid Incredible.
The Droid Incredible will hit the Verizon shelves on April 29th.
On top of this, Engadget reporter Vladislav Savov says that he has discussed the matter with Google, and that the Verizon Wireless capable Nexus One is indeed dead in the water. When Google said a Spring 2010 release date, could they have been alluding to just a “superphone” in general on Verizon? The HTC Incredible and Nexus One are about as similar as they come, part from the Sense UI running on-top of the Incredible’s 2.1.

I’ve read where people have already bought accessories for the Nexus such as cases and docks based on the news of a Verizon Nexus. I feel bad for those folks. I hope they can return them.

I pre-ordered mine and it already shipped ahead of schedule. Wanted the nexus one initially but this one is the exact same but slightly better looking in my opinion and 3 more megapixels on the cam makes me happy
