Developer zachattack052 has just made a big splash into the Android ROM development scene with the release of no less than 4 ROMs for the T-Mobile G1/T-Mobile MT3G.
UPDATE: It appears the this is a team effort between zachattack052 and Xillius
- ZX Donut Build v2.5.1
- ZX 1.5 HERO v1.0
- ZX 2.1 HERO v1.1
- ZX MT3G Slide port v1.2
I’ve just flashed his Hero ROM as it’s been a while since I tried one and it sure seems fast and smooth. I’ve got high hoped for this new guy.
His intro text for the ZX Donut build leaves high expectations with his claim of a ROM that is “way faster the a CSDI ROM”. I’ll be trying the ROM soon and putting it through it’s paces. I’ll let you know what I find.

So far installed the ZX Donut Build v2.5.1 and it runs great on the my touch 3g…. loading the hero 1.5 now.. and then the hero 2.1 i am on a roll loading roms tonight.

Damn, faster than super CSDI? Gotta try the Donut ROM. I really can’t imagine anything being faster than CSDI, but anything’s possible! Very interested in the Hero 2.1 as well. Dev says it’s “fully functional”, so I take it to mean that video and cameras are working. I’ll flash that one too. Looks like we have another great dev team on our hands! It’s a great time to be a G1/MT3G owner.
I posted a review of this ROM on the next page. i havent done much work checking into the others but as for the donut version. it is fast and stable. One major thing to note. the setCPU frequency is messing up the ROM, after install change it to 528 MHz max and 245MHz min. other wise you will end up with an acor Force close when trying to add or remove things from your screen and potentially have a super hot battery as well. spent many hours figuring that one out. once its lowered haven’t had any issues.
