Today Lifehacker reported the find of the https://mail.google.com/tasks/android page by one Miguel. Interestingly, when one points the Android browser to the old tasks for mobile website http://gmail.com/tasks which was announced back in mid 2009 it now redirects to the new Android specific link. Furthermore the Android-specific page can be accessed from a regular desktop browser, unlike the old link. As far as we are aware, Google has made no official announcement about this development thus far but something seems to be happening with tasks. Maybe a dedicated App from Google? Who knows…
For now we will still have to make do with either a link on the home-screen or the gTasks third party app from SSI, which handles tasks quite elegantly either for free or with auto-sync and some other bonus features in a paid version.
