Seems Cyanogen has released test7 for his popular Android 2.1 (Eclair) ROM for the T-Mobile G1/T-Mobile MT3G called CyanogenMod-5. Cyanogen has stated that this should be the last test build, so hopefully we will be seeing a “STABLE” release soon. In the meantime, enjoy the new build. See the changelog below.

I hope this one is better than V.5. Whenever I am in an application and I click the home button it takes about 30 seconds to display any icons. Everything else works great though. Doing a back-up and reporting shortly….

Pretty impressive so far with the limited amount of RAM on my MT3G it still runs fairly smooth and doesn’t lag much either. Been using this since test 1 and it’s been running without any major issues especially the last few builds.

Well I have to say….as a beta this is pretty great. No major issues right now but I wish that the keyboard can be changed to the hero keyboard….this one is just awful lol.
Other than that, Great Rom.
Thanks,

It can be changed to the hero keyboard, you just need to find the apk and install to you handset. You can go and pull down the file from Cyanogens website. I can’t remember what directory it is located in but it should be fairly obvious where it is once you start looking around there. I want to say it is in /apps but I can’t be sure and too lazy to go check. Either way it is there, you will want to pull down the HTC IME (input method) and also an apk named clicker, so look for HTC_IME.apk (or something similar to that) and clicker.apk. Once you get these files downloaded cd into your Download directory and install from your phone or just do it with adb.

Sorry for the big convoluted answer, hopefully that is what you were asking about. Good luck!
