Samsung Losing face for lack of support to Behold II Users

17

In what appears to be an uprising in the Samsung Behold II community, users are feeling like they have been lied to by Samsung and considering the next recourse.  Apparently, Samsung released a promotional video back in November 2009 quoted as saying “and when android 2.0 arrives, it will update wirelessly”. The post also states that advertising, and sales representatives were telling US customers that the Behold II would receive the Android 2.x updates as they became available.

I guess Samsung had been feeling the pressure and have since removed the video from YouTube. It appears they were too late as a user in the community already recorded the video before it was removed and posted it on 4Shared.

I really don’t know enough background about this subject but from everything I’ve read and watched in the video, it would appear that Samsung did miss-lead the potential purchasers of the Behold II and should really live up to their word.

Motorola cliq is still running 1.5

    • ImABoss says:

Yes but at least they are getting an update to 2.1 in Q2.

    • eugene373 says:

Motorola cliq has 2.1 already out for the testers… Behold 2? Nope, not even an official 1.6, but 1.6 is not the issue here!

I think I can Speak for everyone when I say we bought our Behold 2 due to the 2.X update that they was Promoting!

How about Sammy’s official stance on Windows 7- here’s a reply I got by e-mail:

    Dear ******,

Thank you for your inquiry. While Samsung does not support the use of our handsets in conjunction with the Windows 7 operating system at this time, should your PC have the 32-bit version of this OS, the drivers within PC Studio may work on Windows 7 32-bit.
Unfortunately, Samsung does not currently offer drivers compatible with a 64-bit operating system. We are unable to speculate when/if this would be available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may present.

God I hate that phone. They took something nice, and slapped their god-awful touchwiz ui onto it. If it was running stock android, ditched the glitchy cube, and put the lock button in a decent location, the phone would actually have been very nice.

I’m on a Behold 2 that I was incredibly excited to get as my first android phone after hearing of the PROMISE of the upgrade. There is without a doubt great room for improvement with this machine. The specs are great and the OS is not. Its time for the upgrade promised my the manufacturers or I’ll be on the next boat to HTC as well (and this is coming from a LIFE LONG samsung customer).

Signing the petition now– Samsung, do the right thing!
