The world’s first “vision-based” AR game by Zenitum shows us that even though Augmented Reality is not super practical yet, it sure is cool, and a very amazing idea. The team has released a video of their game being demoed and I must say, I’m still trying to imagine what this will be like when it is finally launched.
Basically, you load the game and aim your device’s camera at a printed out target image (which you can get on the game’s website). Once you do this, the image (in this first case, a planet) comes alive on your screen, and then aliens begin to show up and you kill them. It looks awesome.
Now, as with all good things come the bad. First off, Space InvadAR will cost $25 and will be in the Android Market. Secondly, the game can only be played on Google’s Nexus One or the HTC Desire. Lastly, It is impossible to win the game.
