Swype

According to Tech Crunch, Swype will be released to the public today June 16th. It will still be free as long as it’s in beta im sure. It is for all Android handsets. You will be able to grab the app from http://beta.swype.com/ others are stating that we might be able to see it in the Android Market.

Swype will also be on more than just phones. It can be used on any device that has a virtual keyboard. So this means T.V’s, Android Tablets anything with a touchscreen . Since this is being released on the Android platform, this could be a big success for Swype. An other reason to own a Android phone is that you won’t be seeing Swype in the Iphone app store due to its ridiculous rules. It proves how being a more open platform allows Android to innovate in ways Apple’s platform can’t.

So let us know your thoughts. Also post when you see that this is available in the market or on Swype site.

I don’t understand why this is news? Shape writer is actually better and we could already install the swype.apk to pretty much anything anyway

I received an email from Swype a little before midnight informing me that my account had been activated. I installed it through the website. It’s not as difficult as I thought it would be. The tutorial was very helpful. After getting the hang of it, I’m really beginning to like it.
