Barnes & Nobles Launches “Wi-Fi Only” Nook And Updates 3G Version With Lower Price

Good news Nook fans: it looks like Barnes & Noble is updating your Android firmware to version 1.4, as well as offering a new “Wi-Fi Only” Nook to save you even more cost. What Monday can be greater than today? How about a price cut? The new Wi-Fi reader is launching at a price of $149 and the 3G version has dropped to $199. The features of the new Wi-Fi Nook have remained the exact same as the 3G version, minus the 3G of course. All versions of the Nook are available at Nook.com or Best Buy.

    This is the first time I’ve read that the Nook is running Android; with that fact in hand, the price drop, and WiFi only model, the Nook actually becomes a practical purchase for me. Fancy pants.
