Good news to those who live in the U.S. and could not use Google voice before! Google voice is now available for everyone. Formerly known as Grand Central, Google has been working diligently for more than a year to make this available to all U.S. users and it seems they have done it. Google is now allowing open sign ups HERE so hurry up and join in on the action.

This video will break it down Google-style (simple) on how Google Voice works. Enjoy.

I’ve been using Voice since it was Grand Central. I love it. I’ve had my Android phone for about a year now and love the integration. Worth a try!

Been using Google Voice for about a year now. Can be laggy sometimes, up to a two second delay, when someone calls me from outside my area code. I live in the rural US, so I’m not really surprised or upset by this. It’s still going to be the phone number I stick on my business cards and website.

Google voice was awesome while I used it but BEWARE! Every time you refuse a call, the call is forwarded to the Google voice servers. Tmobile charges your account for 1 minute when a call is forwarded, even if you never answered it. I wen over my minute usage because of this, and was stuck with an extra $200 on my phone bill! Just be mindful of how many minutes it is using.

I’ve been using since they started beta and even in beta stage it’s have worked great for and the native app really sealed the deal for me. I started with a G1 and now have a Sprint Hero and not having to call everyone to say i have a new number was beautiful. Since getting GV the following have it… my wife, my mom, both boys, my brother, my brother in law, best friend and old high school buddy. Now that it’s open now i can really get starting. The only number you ever will need.
