Over at Verizon you can search for the Droid Eris all you want, but the device itself has disappeared. What you will find is accessories for the device. I think it’s safe to say farewell to that device. We could all hear the tell tale sounds of the Droid Eris phaseout due to obvious price drops.

Now, to some more unsettling news. Around the Android community, there seems to be an image of Verizon’s phaseout list and it seems the Droid Incredible has made the list. As you can see above, the Droid Incredible is at the bottom. The Blackberry Tour both with and without cameras, are now posted as “Out of Stock.”

For some good news, We here at AndroidSPIN do not think this is true because just about everyone’s Top 5 Android Devices list has the HTC Droid Incredible in there somewhere. We have confirmed that Verizon has changed the SKU for this this device, as well as the packaging and even threw in a 2GB microSD card. We can only assume that the phaseout list from Verizon is just for the SKU itself, so HTC Droid Incredible fans you can breathe a little easier.

as a verizon customer who has to wait a month to get a droid incredible I can say it has become very fustrating watch people get there iphone 4g long before mine is due. maybe verizon is dropping it due to the supply problems it seems to have

I know 4 people that have the not so “incredible” and all are having problems. I don’t think it’s a supply problem. It’s a quality problem.
I know a lot more than 4 people with the incredible that use it everyday with no problems. This whole thing is simply about SKU numbers and is completely overblown. I wish people would stop acting like the incredible has all these major phone quality problems. There have been some issues that HTC is aware of and they have said they have a software update coming to address these. I know many people who are not having any problems whatever. I love my incredible and have not regretted my purchase of this phone for even a moment. I do feel for those who are going to the frustration of having trouble getting theirs. Viva la incredible.

it is a FACT that verizon is changing the SKU and packaging for the droid incredible.. as well as a different device itself… they have changed components in the phone in this second mass shipment from taiwan. The way verizon’s system works… is that they have to take the old SKU # out before they can put the other one in… just like HTML, you cant just add another code to an existing one or it will come out jumbled and messed up. there is no profit Verizon has in phasing the incredible… considering the million some orders they have pending for it. they are waiting for the shipments and are following strict protocol in changing the SKU

It took almost a month to get my Incredible but there are no grounding issues, no real reception issues, and it came with the 2gb memory card that actually works to root it. Whats not to love.
