Looks like yet another Froyo build is making its way to a Nexus One near you. It is being reported that both T-Mobile and AT&T Nexus One devices are receiving the OTA update. It looks like maybe a small update to possibly fix some issues with the latest FRF85b build especially some security issues. Google officially announced the FRF85b build on June 28th and to get reports of this mysterious FRF91 build makes you wonder. What did they forget or mess up?

You can manually install the update using the following steps, but you must already have FRF85b installed to apply this update.

When i try to reinstall swype, i get an “out of memory error”, when i clearly have plenty and plenty of memory available. Not cool. Beware of that if you do decide to upgrade.

I think FRF85B had a problem with the wifi. I couldnt get it to work but when I updated to FRF91 it instantly came on. (nexus one on t-mobile)

  13. Froyo OTA - Canada (Bell)

Just loaded FRF91 OTA on a Nexus One in Canada using “checkin” . I had updated from EPE54B using download from www but the update to FRF91 came Over The Air. Once I agreed to install update it took about 2 min to install and reboot.
I agree FRF91 seems snappier. I’d not had problems with WiFi after initial update to FRF83 but happy with the latest.

    Hey everyone

From Australia here and yes I have a n1. Just got the update like 10minutes ago and all that I can tell from trying update; although may just be a placebo, I seem to be getting a better touch screen response. That is it seems to handle multitouch just that little bit better. Also just as mentioned everything just feels that little bit quicker….

Also for bengiepr I was on ere27, manual updated to frf50 then I automatically received the update to frf91.

Does anyone have similar experiences to me in regards to the touch screen?

    Cheers

In Asia and of course never received OTA updates as frequently as people in the states but used the manual search for update method ( in settings/about phone/system updates and/or *#*#2432546#*#* and finally showed the FRF91 update. Total size 909kb. (THANKS FOR INSTALLING THIS SOFTWARE UPDATE, WHICH CONTAINS SECURITY FIXES FOR YOUR VERSION OF ANDROID) I’m upgrading from current Froyo firmware FRF85B. To start press the RESTART/INSTALL, then it gives you a 10 second countdown to REBOOT or a CANCEL button if you need to ABORT, show the normal Android icon with the white open box with yellow arrow, then after installing your phone will automatically reboot and show the normal start up animations. Takes about a 1-2 minutes. Good luck guys!

N1 North-American Version (Tri band UMTS 850/1900/2100 MHz)
    Canada/Bell Mobility
    currently at EPE54B
Still haven’t received the OTA for Froyo yet
I’ve been doing *#*#CHECKIN#*#* every day since June 29th, always getting success notification but “my system is up to date”…
Use there something I’m doing wrong?

    Please help.

    • Alex

I kept getting the same thing, so when I heard that Google was releasing OTA updates for manually updated N1′s I jumped on that bandwagon. If you manually update your N1, then you’ll get the update.
