The battle between home replacements continues between ADW and LauncherPro. Federico Carnales, developer of LauncherPro, has added a more distinctive feature that might help it pull away with the win. Now users can add scrollable widgets, similar to that of HTC Sense. Of course, he has added a price tag to the application to go along with the new features. You should look at it as a small price to pay for your added features. Currently the early-bird price is $2.99 and will go up once more widgets are added.
Upcoming widgets to be added:
- Bookmarks Widget – Quick access to your browser’s bookmarks
- Friends Widget – Lists your friends’ status updates from Facebook and Twitter, and lets you update your own status too.
- Calendar/Agenda Widget – Shows you a calendar you can scroll through to switch months, and also lets you see your agenda for any particular day right within the widget.
- Messaging – Scroll through a list of your SMS messages or one by one. Quick links to delete messages, reply, etc.
Unfortunately, Federico lives where paid apps can not yet be sold, so you can purchase this application on his official LauncherPro Web site via Paypal.
Keep in mind, you can get the application now for $2.99 or risk paying more when he adds more widgets.

1. I need more Widgets to even consider. 2. He lives in Tibet so we will never see it on the market.

Pull ahead of what? ADW has had scrollable widgets for several weeks already. In fact, both developers are working together, along with widget makers (such as @koxx), to get this functionality as close to perfection as possible. Both LPro and ADW are stellar products in my book.

I was all ready to purchase it to show my support for the only home screen app that I liked, but then I saw curse word “paypal”.

I can’t believe some of you complaining about paying for this app. This guy has poured hours upon hours into Launcher Pro and you spit in his face and complain about him charging. This is the kind of shit that keeps developers away from Android. I don’t even use Launcher Pro but I know it’s a top quality app. In my opinion it’s worth $3.00 without these extra’s.
Stop being cheap and pony up some $$ before developers start saying (FUCK YOU, I’M GOING TO iOS.)

I bought it, it’s too bad he lives where Paid Apps can’t be done, this is the kind of paid app the market needs.
I use both ADW and Launcher Pro and I like them both, for the $3 it is totally worth it just to give him some support and, rightful, monitory reward for his hard work.
It is important to support developers but ill ne’er pay for an off market app, especially $3. And also if you’re going to make a free beta don’t put it on the market and then charge for a final product thy can’t ever be on the market itself, that’s just not good to do to your customers.

Im all about supporting devs but….I just paid $3 for 1 widget. Thats all that was new
You should have waited to publish when its done. Oh and people, quit complaining about it not being on the market. Where he lives its impossible to publish paid apps at the moment.

Just bought it, this guy diserves $3 from me, I’ve been using this app for months now and its my favorite by far.

I bought it, the people widget sucks, but he deserves the $3 anyway.
