Photography: Getting Textural with Samsung’s Vibrant

2010-07-23 20.02.01

Yesterday I shared with you a glimpse of the Samsung Vibrant’s photography capabilities. Today, I thought I’d share some photos I took while attending a family BBQ. These were all taken with no direct sunlight available. Settings are still at max resolution and 5MP. I took multiple photos of various textures and angles to demonstrate how well the camera performs.

Yes, these are Wheat Thins. It’s an odd photo to take, I know. These sets of photos are more about how clear and detailed they are. Not the subject matter.

Nothing more than an oil lamp. The reflection was what I noticed. If you look close you can even see me in a green shirt and a white hat.

These next two are in the same location. I wanted to demonstrate how simple it is to change what the camera focuses on. Simply tap on your screen where you want it to focus and the camera will readjust its focus on that point. Once it is focused the square goes green and your shot is ready.

A simple shot looking down a wicker chair. A lot going on in this photo with many lines and shadows.

Photo of a flower up close. Not the most brilliant flower, but the colors are beautiful.

An up close photo of the grass and clovers.

Nothing special here. This is a photo of a boat cover up close. It’s a little dirty, but you can clearly see the fabric.

Nothing more then a blinker light on the boat trailer. You can easily see every little ripple that is in the casing though.

Again, may not be the most interesting photos you have ever seen. This was a better preview of shots to demonstrate the true capabilities of the phones camera. Who knows, maybe I just inspired the next Ansel Adams. Happy shooting everyone.

I worked at T-Mobile for 5 years. I was the go to guy for Android phones and training. That passion didn't stop even after my departure from the company. I currently moved up from my MyTouch 3G to a Samsung Vibrant. A lot has changed in a very short time. I look forward to all the latest and greatest every time I wake up.

Samsung: “No plans for Ice Cream Sandwich at all for the Galaxy S line.”

Well, that is about all there is to say about that. Seems as though the reports that came in shortly after Samsung had announced the ICS update device line up, pegs the Galaxy S as dead in the water after all. We heard a rumor ...

Samsung thinks a ‘Value Pack’ will be a good ICS option for the Galaxy S and Tab
