With more and more high-end Android devices leaning towards on screen keyboards lately it’s nice to see T-Mobile possibly gaining a 1 Ghz chipped Android device with a full QWERTY keyboard. I say ‘Possibly’ because the specs of this new HTC device are not confirmed. We do know it will be coming to T-Mobile, at least looking at this photo of the device bearing the T-Mobile branding at the top of the device. The real question is, Will this be coming to T-Mobile USA or to an overseas counter part. With all the hype around T-Mobile USA’a recent press release regarding an official HSPA+ device coming soon, the Emerald Project under way and the leaked road map of upcoming devices. This does fall in line with what we have seen recently. It is rumored currently to be called the G1 Blaze. HTC and T-Mobile look to be falling back on their G1 Roots a little here. I suppose it is now just a ‘Hurry up and wait’ game to see what really goes on with this.

I worked at T-Mobile for 5 years. I was the go to guy for Android phones and training. That passion didn't stop even after my departure from the company. I currently moved up from my MyTouch 3G to a Samsung Vibrant. A lot has changed in a very short time. I look forward to all the latest and greatest every time I wake up.

jerzeeloon: That’s what my wife said too. I agree, but I like the blue key labels better ;) Looks good to me. The Slide is a great phone so far to us and I doubt I’ll stray from it for a while. The MyTouch3G I have is still working and is the longest-running cellphone I have ever owned to date. Hopefully, the Slide will continue the trend :)

ps: The 1GHz deal doesn’t faze me as the processor doesn’t mean much without memory. I wonder what the REAL specs are…

I’ve been waiting for something like this ever since the N1 came out…although now Snapdragon’s 1 ghz processor isn’t going to be top of the line now. wish it had the vibrant’s cpu and camera :)

the keyboard looks like its been ripped from the tmobile wing…

This is somewhat what I suggested TO HTC in an email. But the keyboard doesn’t look 5 row. Sent HTC links to threads posted by others to show them that many wished to see the G1 re-invented. I’m definitely going to get this when and if it makes it to TMo.

Someone from another site made a good point T-Mobile Europe has 3 dots before and after the T on all there phones where T-Mobile USA has 1 dot before the T and 3 after like the device shown. This most likely will be the Vanguard for T-Mobile USA lets just hope the HSPA+ chipset comes with a better gpu.

I’d bet this is the phone the managers saw at their meeting. Looks good, like the Slide’s big brother. I’ll stick with my Vibrant, but this is an awesome device by the looks of it.
