Latest Motorola Droid X Promo: “Hotspot”

by Alex Smith on 29th Jul 2010 -

Verizon’s latest promo for the Motorola Droid X shows off its 3G Hotspot feature and should start running on TV tonight. With this device selling fast, Verizon is continuing to push the Motorola Droid X as much as they can. This feature is not free and comes on the device as an add-on. To most of us, this feature is not anything new as we have been using this feature on our G1 for a long time now and is built-in to our Nexus One update. Droid X users can enjoy free tethering once they root their device, until then be prepared to have your wallet ready.

I first discovered Android when I purchased my G1 and then once I rooted it I realized this was becoming an addiction. I later purchased the Nexus One and after rooting that device I finally realized I had a problem. What do you do when you have an addiction? you guessed it, don't be a quitter. I’m an EVO owner, but I absolutely love the Droid voice. The commentator sounds very close to Peter Cullen. Is that a laid back Optimums lol.

I got an n1 that I absolutly love, but got to play with an X, and i must say its a great phone, and a perfect size. Not a big fan of verizon but i gotta say what they’ve done for android as far as advertising goes is amazing. most people think all android phones are droids. And once again to verizons credit, another great commercial!

Was able to have an evaluation DroidX for 3 weeks in early July. I took it on a family RV trip. I had it plugged into my RV’s DC power and had the Mobile HotSpot app running so my 14 year old son could tether his laptop while traveling across Nebraska at 70mph. I’m not a Verizon customer but I have to say Verizon 3G coverage rocks.
