The MyTouch HD Teases Us Again

The myTouch series has been a great success for T-Mobile with the introduction to the myTouch3G, followed by the enhanced versions to the myTouch3G Slide. What is being called the myTouch HD, this device greatly resembles the HSPA+ device that is under that mysterious white cloak and I must say that if this is T-Mobile’s first HSPA+ device, I will be very disappointed. The myTouch series has the guts to shine while the physical aspect of the device, which we see on the myTouch3G Slide, has gone on to look very cheap. One of my favorite features on smartphones today is the capacitive buttons we find on the front of the device and the devices with the plastic hard buttons seem very cheap, to the look and feel. In the image below we can see that the myTouch HD will carry on the button layout of the myTouch3G Slide and for that I’m no longer interested in this supposed T-Mobile device.

I am not convinced that this device is going to be the first HSPA+ device, I still have my eyes on the HTC Vision/Vanguard device with its slide out full QWERTY keyboard, capacitive buttons and from what our sources are saying, the HTC Vision/Vanguard is the HSPA+ device we can come to expect at launch. The image of the HTC Vision/Vanguard is below.

What device would you rather see under the white cloak? myTouch HD or the HTC Vision/Vanguard? Share your opinion below.

I think it’s to much plastic and agree with you. I’m waiting for the Vision/Vanguard or the project emerald. This looks too cheap like the my touch.

The 3rd and final picture is completely different from the first 2 and is very misleading. Depending on specs and if this phone is legitimate I will buy it.

The bottom image represents the HTC Vision/Vanguard which I mention in the bottom of the post. Sorry for the confusion, I have updated the post titling the last image. Thanks for your comment

I agree with you on not wanting this device at all.
It’s almost as if they rushed the slide out for the iphone release and this will be what they actually had in mind.
But after using the slide for almost 30 days (here in California the return period is within 30 days) I returned the device for many reasons, including the lack of punch in hardware and the nasty root process and the buttons and the keyboard and on and on and on…
I do NOT see myself getting this device nor do I think that with it having a beefier hardware setup will change my decision…..

I will say that from the looks of the keyboard in the leaked shots, it is leaps and bounds ahead of the MT Slide already though.
The Slides keyboard is a mess, at least this looks like a USER actually had input on the letter/number layout, but still should have been a 5 row key set…

Id get neither I’m holding out for a 5 row keyboard so my g1 can rest in peace and until then I’m rock my vintage android phone.

I agree with your point that the capacitive buttons are much more pleasing to the eye but this phone doesn’t look too bad. The early pictures of all the Androids we see always look like garbage and then turn out not to be near as bad as initially thought. The HTC Vision looks God Awful but I’m sure when it comes out it will actually not look too bad. This phone would look much better with capacitive buttons but with physical buttons it’s really not that bad. I understand the point you’re making but you’re being WAAAAAAYYY too over dramatic about it!

maybe i’m the only one, but i prefer the plastic buttons… sure metal would be nice, but i dont like capacitive buttons. when working with rooting and booting into recovery or fastboot or what have you, i really like to be able to know that i am holding a button down and also that i wont accidentally boot into recovery because my finger happens to be touching the button (with no intent to push) while i’m powering on. personally i am a fan of the mt3g slide. i like full qwerty although full 12345 would be much better. so i am going to hold out for the vision/vanguard/g1blaze/emerald/whatever else people are calliing the dream phone of the future now. (as far as t-mobile goes anyway). although the vibrant is really pretty.. my friend got a captivate yesterday it is a very very nice screen.

I’m. Seeing that the mytouch HD doesn’t. Have a physical keyboard. So I think that this will be t-mobile version of the Evo. Hope the screen is 4.3 w/ slcd! Plus it looks Like the mutouch HD has xenon flash… right?
