The HTC HD2 transition to Android is almost complete! Sorry Window Mobile, it seems like HD2 has found permanent home.
Since our July report on the Android community’s effort to port Android to this unit, a lot has changed.
According to XDA, The following are now working:
- Wifi
- GPS
- 3G
- Camera with flash
- Bluetooth (issues)
- Everything that’s working on other builds
Courtesy of HDBlog.it, the HD2 can be seen running the shubCRAFT CM6RC2/Froyo/Themed V1.1 (Minimalistic Themed) Rom in the video below:
The HTC HD2, which boasts a gorgeous 4.3-inch touch screen, a 5-megapixel camera and 1Ghz Snapdragon processor is a perfect fit for Android awesomeness! With such strong specs for the device, if full ported, stands in the ranks of phones like the Droid and Nexus One – arguably even better!

just get the vibrant if its almost the same price as hd2… android on hd2 right now is ok.. no freeze but not everything is working i mean almost everything is working and you can use it as everyday rom…if you want pure android get a android phone…if you want dual boot get hd2
a phone is just a phone until Android is running on it, genius. so while an android Rom is live on the HD2, it IS an android phone. XD also, This port is being updated constantly and before long will blow the vibrant out of the water. . so @slicktune, you sound like even more of an android nub then “@leodroid” so get the vibrant, I doubt you’ll put up with the trial and errors of intalling a ported version of the android OS over to the HD2.

Fyi hd2 is running snapdragon while vibrant has hummingbird cpu. Once we see hummingbird-equipped phones with froyo/2.2, we are going to see SPEED.

Yes I would like the elements on the house srceen with news updates, yes I want contacts visable at any given time, I want a teach app, a flight app, a highway congestion status app and yes I need a phone in an effort to reply to my each and every command and now not dangle/freeze or shutdown like my present Nokia E72 or my earlier Blackberry Bold.

I have Android running on my HD2…works fine except after a while when the phone sleeps, it shuts off completely? Anyone else having that problem? Any fixes?
