Not only did the latest update for the Sony Ericsson X10 keep them at Android 1.6, the update brought a bug that is really annoying to users with bad reception. For users who frequently use WiFi and are located in poor service areas where the signal drops and comes back up, the device is automatically turning off the WiFi feature. This seems extremely annoying and hopefully a fix is coming soon. Version R2BA026 seems to be the culprit so I wouldn’t recommend upgrading to this version if you already experience poor signal and rely on WiFi.

Same here in Vancouver. This piece of crap loses WiFi and loses signal cell signal few times a day. People start complaining they can’t reach me and my inbox is now full of messages. Oh, and the battery is just enough to last for a day — I put charger in my pocket sometimes too.
Stay away from X10! It’s a shame because SE was a great company especially with P910 or P990 (much less with the latter though)
