T-Mobile’s Project Emerald has been a mystery since day one, and with all of these top devices hitting other carriers, everyone has been waiting on what T-Mobile will throw out. We’ve heard rumors about the HTC Desire HD/HTC MyTouch HD and the HTC Vision/G1 Blaze. According to Phandroid’s source, Project Emerald entails the release of two (yes, two) “3.5G” devices. We’re hearing that the HTC MyTouch HD and the G1 Blaze will be the HSPA+ devices that will be gracing Magenta’s presence this fall.

If you look back at the leaked T-Mobile roadmap, you’ll find that “Project Emerald” will be launched on Friday, November 5th. Our source confirmed that the HTC Vision/G1 Blaze was “one” of the HSPA+ devices, which leads us to believe that there are at least two HSPA+ devices planned from T-Mobile this year.
Lets just say that this rumor is true for a moment, if the HTC MyTouch HD and the G1 Blaze drop in November, what is the HTC Vanguard showing as launching on Thursday, September 9th? Do they plan on moving up their Project Emerald to a September release? T-Mobile’s HSPA+ site has already gone live and shows a mysterious device. After all is speculated and all of the shots in the dark, we can confirm that this Project Emerald is probably the biggest mystery of 2010.

I’m not getting my hopes up yet. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from project dark or black. Whatever it was.

september 9th:
HTC Desire HD
Froyo/Sense
November 5th:
HTC myTouch HD
Froyo/Genius
HTC G1 Blaze
Froyo/Genius
Desire HD(Tmo version of the Evo) with a 4-4.3″ screen, myTouch HD (Tmo version of the Incredible) with a 3.7″ screen. All of them with at least 1ghz processors, maybe more. And just like the mytouch slide wasn’t vanilla google or sense, but a mix with genius thrown in, genius continues as the “skin” of choice for t-mobile’s mytouch line, and as a correction, i think the G1 Blaze will come with the genius skin, but it could, just like the original G1, come with vanilla. So Tmo would have three handsets with all the necessary flavors. HSPA+, no 4G fees necessary, Vanilla Froyo, HTC Sense Froyo, and myTouch Genius Froyo, across tablets and sliders, all ready for holiday consumption. And let’s remember, all of Tmo’s past and current android handsets (maybe not the behold 2…) are compatible with HSPA+.

Yes the G1 and even the sidekick keyboards where the best ever. Virtual KB’s just aren’t fast enough for those of us who type fast and on the fly. Can’t type on the fly with a virtual keyboard w/out multi-touch. Sucks having to switch screens to type numbers and special characters.

I am anxiously waiting for T-mo to release something worth keeping for a while. Right now i am stuck with the HD2 and i am not very happy. I want android back, but i am waiting for that device with the dual core processor to come out so i can jump on that one.
