Pay Via Paypal Coming to Android Market?

Not too long ago, we mentioned that Google would soon be adding more payment options to the Market. While it was thought the expansion would have additional carrier-billing options, I did suggest Paypal would be a great addition as well.

Now, Cnet is reporting that Paypal is in talks with Google to bring Paypal yet another billing option for app purchases. It would appear these talks are still in the early stages; Paypal and Google aren’t even commenting on a possible launch date yet.

Still, the Android community loves options. Combine that with the popularity of Paypal, and this sounds like a great partnership. What do you think?

well, the prices will go up a bit since paypal has to get a cut from the sales, but still beats the alternative of no paid apps

Entirely not true. Paypal is a deposit bank. This means they work by getting their money from interest.

To clarify user buys app > money goes to seller’s paypal > paypal holds money for a few days. > paypal keeps the interest from holding the money > money from purchase goes to seller.

  3. You forgot the part where Paypal charges the seller fee (around 3% depending on the account.

Most people linked their credit cards with PayPal account. Therefore when I pay, the PayPal has to pay fee to credit card company. Its the same as when I pay with my credit card in the shop..

But someone who don’t have credit card now can make PayPal account.
And for now without credit card i can’t buy app from android market. If i can pay via PayPal – i can at last buy from market.
