After a series of test builds and release candidates across several target devices, the first stable release of CyanogenMod-6.0 has officially been released! This ROM is based on Android 2.2, and is currently available of the following target devices:
- Google Nexus One
- HTC Aria
- HTC Dream / HTC Magic
- HTC Desire
- HTC Evo
- HTC Hero CDMA
- HTC Hero GSM
- HTC Incredible
- HTC MyTouch 3G Slide
- Motorola Droid
I have been downloading the nightly builds daily and closely following commit changes in order to get a sneak peek at the new features present in the stable builds since the last release candidates. There are surprises all over. Cyanogen and Team Douche have really worked hard to bring these flavors to our devices. Hats off Team Douche!
CM6 boasts a few new features and tweaks. Some features include ADWLauncher 1.1.4 which boasts some impressive add-ons such as the group catalog as well as improved UI settings. Sound and audio focus settings have been added to the CyanogenMod Settings menu and the locale now supports more languages.
Devices running RCs or nightly builds can easily update to CM-6 with ROM Manager or head over to Cyanogen’s forums for their flavors of CM6.
We are currently updating Cyanogen’s AndroidSPIN Developer Homepage with information on all these downloads. Stay tuned for updates.

CM6 for Galaxy S? oh please please please
@WesGarner is currently working on CM6-alpha for Samsung Galaxy S. It should not be long before a build is released. For more information checkout the official CyanogenMod Device/Release List here: http://bit.ly/cmprogress
[...] = 250; There is some interesting news for CyanogenMod 6 fans and enthusiasts. According to AndroidSpin, CyanogenMOD 6 is now a stable deal and is available for 10 different Android based handsets. All [...]
its a sweet and stable rom too (moto droid)
Ummmm…. not seeing Hero CDMA as available. I’m sure it will be shortly, but it’s not on CM’s site as of right now.
Its pretty cool that he got it ported to the g1 but now I have faced the fact and starting to still with 1.6 as my daily rom and maybe sometimes 2.1
Maybe someday someone will port some of the froyo features over to donut so we can have that speed and reliability.
The stable (Non RC) Cm6 is not out for the CDMA or GSM Hero yet.
I don’t know if anyone else is having this problem on the mytouch by my keyboard keeps disappearing on me when I’m in the middle of typing something really annoying!
kb woking fine here ,,
magic 32b
That issue used to happen on the test builds. I have not seen it happen on my MT3G yet. I usually just flash without wiping. I decided to do a full wipe this time around just to make it easier to troubleshoot issues.
I think it’s this ticket here: http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=2079&colspec=ID%20Type%20Status%20Priority%20Version%20Model%20Owner%20Summary%20Stars%20Modified
throw in the hd2 and i’ll be really happy
dang, cyanogen and his buddies are insane. i remember cm was dream/sapphire only. now it’s what, like 15 devices?
Did you fully wipe it or just upgrade from rc3?
I wish this was available for the cliq xt, oh well
for cm6, camera has problem, the auto focus stuck on camera mod when you switch to video mode, it is so blur
Dude, I remember when I didn’t even know who Cyanogen was and had first discovered about him (back in the Cupcake builds… Maybe it was 3.6.8.1)
Truly amazing…
if only this was on moment…..
I had the blurry video problem the first time I switched to video from camera. I switched back to camera and focused….then back to video again. That seemed to be enough to fix it. I have not seen it since.
Still others take CM’s work and port it other phones. This is the “kang” process they refer to. It related to KingKlick (or “kang”klick, with an accent) doing this kind of thing.
Full Wipe
Sweet build, love it on my My Touch. I can’t seem to find the android market though, anyone know how I can get it?
did u flash the google apps add-on file?
[...] HTC Hero GSM [...]
same with mine, the one that not 720p build works fine. waiting them to fix, fall back to older build.
Just flashed the CM6 Stable in my G1….
has anybody faced issue with the market and browser????
coz in the previous build my market and browser not working at all in any FROYO ROM’s…
market got stuck in downloading status for all the apps and browser not able to open the google.com.
This isn’t support, but usually it’s that you need the “gapps-tiny” google apps for the Dream, use the downloads at the cyanogenmod.com site.
Why does CM team of douches (thats what they want to be called) only bother with HTC phones? Because they are easy to dev for? Stop being so lazy … I thought you guys liked a challenge? LAME
P.S. Google Nexus One is a HTC phone
What about the Moto Droid?
Any idea on the HTC Desire for US Cellular?
I used to had CM 5.0.8 and it worked a little slow on my MyTouch 3g but 6.0.0 is working as fast as android 1.6, try it
Get yourself a HTC phone then.
i am not bale to see this feture on my G1 with this CM6 stable ROm can anyone help me in this one
