It looks like the O2 Dell Streak in the UK will soon be receiving Android 2.1. O2 confirmed that their Dell Streak owners in the UK will begin receiving Android 2.1 as early as Wednesday September 1st. The update should hold you over until Froyo arrives later this year, which will definitely be a step up from Android 1.6.
A leaked Android 2.1 build has been floating around allowing users to upgrade their devices, but some people just can’t trust unofficial builds. Unfortunately, we don’t have any news regarding the U.S. Dell Streak or non-O2 users, but hopefully other networks will follow O2′s lead and throw out 2.1 to hold you over.
