Acer Liquid Metal Confirmed for October Launch

0

It looks like Acer has been at work on their latest Liquid handset with a metal backplate. Electricpig has confirmed through an Acer UK source that the Acer Liquid Metal will be launching in late October. The Acer UK spokeperson who confirmed the device did not provide other details about the device.

Rumored features of the Acer Liquid Metal include:

  • Android 2.2 (Froyo)
  • 3.6-inch WVGA touchscreen display
  • 800MHz processor (Qualcomm MSM 7230?)

Specifically highlighting the metal backplate, we probably won’t see an all metal device. Also, that 800MHz processor could be the same one we’ll soon find on the T-Mobile G2, but that is just speculation. We do know that the late October release date has been confirmed, so maybe a few other Acer handsets could be seeing a firmware upgrades around the same time. Pricing has not yet been announced and the device is looking to be launching in the UK at this time as that’s where the confirmation originated.

We’ll be sure to keep you all posted with the latest information about this Acer Liquid model as “late October” shall soon be upon us. Did anyone just add another device to their wishlist?
