The Motorola Milestone (or to those familiar with the CDMA device, the Motorola Droid) is now listed as “coming soon.” The word is that the Milestone will be landing in Alltel stores on September 23rd. For those wondering, Verizon bought Alltel who in turn sold the remaining stores to AT&T.
Features of the Motorola Milestone include:
- Android 2.1
- 3.7-inch high resolution display
- 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash
- Slide out full-QWERTY keyboard
We find it a little ironic that this dying device is heading to a dying carrier, what do you all think?

Oh awesome. So you can get a phone that’s instantly obsolete. It will get Froyo and that’s it. Seriously? Who wants to buy a Motorola phone that is already abandoned the day you buy it?
I’ve got a Milestone. Don’t make the same mistake I made. Stay away from that phone. Get a newer model or a phone from another manufacturer without a locked bootloader.
+1…dying device, dying carrier and dying phone brand..
Dying Carrier? I don’t know who you’ve been talking to. Alltel was originally bought by Verizon who sold PART of the stores to AT&T, kept ALOT of the stores themselves and sold the remaining to ATN(Atlanta Telenetwork). I currently sell Alltel and my bosses also have a Verizon store in a town 30 miles away. We more than triple their sales and we are about 25,000 less in population. People drive from other towns to be able to get back on Alltel. Get your facts straight before you start bad mouthing.
Best motorola phone ever made!!..
