Motorola has recently updated their software update chart showing which devices will receive which software update. As we’ve already reported, the Motorola Cliq’s update to Android 2.1 is currently in the testing process and we can expect it soon if testing goes well. There isn’t really anything new as far as updates go as we already knew that the Motorola Devour wouldn’t be receiving an update past Android 1.6. Head over to Motorola’s Software Upgrade page to find your device if you don’t see it in the above image we have provided here. The Motorola BackFlip is on track to receive Android 2.1 sometime in Q4.

We should show this to people who are thinking of buying a Motorola phone.
Why are they even bothering with 2.1 updates? That would be like getting your software ready for Vista instead of Windows 7.
I bought the cliq when it first came out. Big mistake. With their failure to update and encrypted bootloaders. I won’t be buying anymore of their products.
2.1 is still better than 1.5 by far even though the Cliq sucks 2.1 helps a little…
…. seems like Canada isn’t getting to much android love from Motorola…. us here in America are very lucky …. but i still agree with raitchison

They have to realize that this is not an I phone platform. There are a lot of phones out there and if they dont take this seriously they are going to loose this game. because I know my next android will not be a Motorola phone.
You are very correct. I think Motorola has to do something to make a strong comeback as many people are not returning back to Motorola for the next high end device for multiple reasons.
That’s fair.
I have been a Motorola fan for years (I was a cell phone technician back in the 80′s). Mostly because of it being an American company, and not necessarily because they have better phones. I purchased the Devour which had a very promising future (I thought). Only to be disappointed by Motorola’s lack of interest in supporting their consumers. We use 5 phones in my family, and I have made it a point to NOT purchase a Motorola phone for any/all the phones in my plan. In addition, every time someone asks about my “cool” phone. I tell them is a Motorola pile of garbage and discourage them from buying the brand.
