I’ve been on an ongoing quest to find Android games with a little more depth and substance than the seemingly endless sea of tower defense games and general rabble. Earlier this week I chose to pursue a recommendation to take a look at WarPath by Synthetic Reality where I found much of what I was looking for. WarPath is a real time overhead space trading and war game and a port of a PC game created by the same company (link). It’s not as deep and strategic as something like Masters of Orion, or as fast paced as Galcon and it certainly could use a few layers of polish, but it does scratch a certain itch with its list of features.
Rather than go through what this game has to offer, it might just be easier to show you:
At $1.99 on the Android Market WarPath is well worth the price for some, however the audience for this style of indie game is painfully limited.
