Nexus 2 Launch Plagued by Hardware Issues

Samsung and Google have been working closely together to develop the “Nexus 2.” The device earned the name because it will have a clean install of Android, which is exactly what the Nexus One had when it was released. The launch of the “Nexus 2” was suppose to flow smoothly with the launch of Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
According to Tech Crunch, the Samsung event that is being held Monday is not about the launch of this device, but yet another Android device that Samsung has been working on. The “Nexus 2” was rumored to launch on November the 11th, which was also the rumored launch date of Gingerbread.

Unfortunately, according to the source, this device has been plagued with major hardware issues. It is unknown what the issues are, but until they are fixed this device will not be released. No word on how long it will take to fix the hardware issue.

  1. Awwwww. Oh well. I’m absolutely loving my myTouch 4G right now and I can’t imagine this device being anywhere near as nice as the Nexus One.

    • g1-and-only

i received the mt4 and will be returning it, not that its not a nice phone but i cant get over the difference in screen quality compared to my nexus. BTW, the nexus is and will always be one of the best phones ever.

Ha google should of stayed with HTC for n2

    • Am I the only one actually excited about the Nexus Two being built by Samsung? I mean yeah HTC has good build quality (except for my N1 with dust under the screen) but HTC puts such inferior cameras on its phones. I wanted to get the G2 but it has terrible low light recording its sad really. The Nexus Two with Super AMOLED screen, superior camera and recording, Hummingbird (or Orion cpu), and Stock Android with Google in full control? That’s a great big basket of win.

I agree with you. I have the vibrant and the colors and quality of the screen are really sexy. I like what samsung does

      • Because of my work, I’ve had the pleasure of using Samsung, HTC, and a whole slew of other handsets from manufacturers. I’ve had the N1 since the day it was launched, and I have to say, the Samsung line of Galaxy S phones has eclipsed my N1 now. The G2 and the myTouch4G are similarly well made phones, but neither are exactly what I’m interested in at the moment. The MT4G is close, but I didn’t want the SenseUI. A vanilla Android 2.3 device from Samsung might be just the device to replace my N1.

  3. This is what you get when you choose Samsung

yeah because the HTC N1 was perfect and had nothing wrong with it. You didn’t lose 3G if you held your hand over the bottom of the phone. okay.

Samsung phones may not be perfect but they’re not any worse than any HTC phone. Every single smartphone has some issue. You want a phone with no issues, get a dumb phone.

My dad has a vibrant and a friend of mine has an epic 4g, and both of them work better than my nexus one. The screens puts my nexus to shame, both get GPS locks in less then 30 seconds. my nexus is lucky if it gets one in 2 minutes. I can hold the entire bottom and top of the phone and MAYBE loose one bar, maybe. On my nexus, i can hold the bottom and go from 2 bars of 3G to 1 bar of edge.

Friend of mine dropped his nexus from about 2 feet onto tile, screen was shattered and the entire body was scratched up. My dad has already dropped his vibrant 4 times from 4+ feet and only the metal border has gotten dinged up, screen is perfect with nothing but the screen cover the phone came with out of the box. Gorilla glass FTW.

But then both phones have their own downsides. The LED is glitchy on the epic, the vibrant has no led and both are still waiting on froyo.

Every single phone has good things and bad things about it. But for me, i welcome a nexus two from samsung. the Galaxy S devices are some of the best devices out there. And one with stock android, and hopefully a LED and a flash too, to me thats a perfect phone.

Also, theres nothing wrong with plastic backs on a phone, as long as the front looks nice, i could care less about the back because tt’s gonna be covered with a case anyway.

You guys are idiots. You were one of the sites refuting the existence of the nexus two, and now just gloss over that you were wrong and pop straight into a story about it. For shame.

only thing i would want out of this is a rom port for my vibrant!
