While ClockworkMod’s custom recovery made it onto the device yesterday, Team Douche member @kmobs has been sharing some of his progress via twitter and as you can see above, CM6 is in fact running on the recently perm rooted myTouch 4G.

While a public release of CM6 for the myTouch 4G is not available at the moment, we do know that it has happened and us myTouch 4G users will be able to get our flashing fix soon. How do you all feel about CM6 on the myTouch 4G?

This is awesome but nexus s showed up on best buy page so now I’m confused again on which phone to get. Also iffy on Samsung making a nexus, not sure I like them or believe them yet…

They have 8 days to decide what’s up with this Nexus S business before i have to take my MT4G back. If it’s real, i’m getting it (dependent upon specifications). On topic though, i’m glad to see CyanogenMod 6 making progress on the MT4G. I’m not a big fan of sense at all and resorted to ADW Launcher just to feel more at home. I was huge on CM6 when I had a N1.
Can. Not. Wait.
I had the Vibrant first and loved all the hardware but not any of the software Touch WIZ UI completely destroyed
that phone, so I returned it for the G2 and couldnt be happier so if the Nexus S is anything like the Vibrant or better
then with stock Gingerbread it will go down in HISTORY I’m sure of it, in fact I will buy it as soon as it drop’s!!!!!!!
ANDROID RUN’S THE WORLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!111
for all the good android brings, the least the community needs is CM muddying the experience. Custom roms sound like a good idea until you start loading CM on it.
confusing experiences like cm’s jumbled mess of menus will eventually deter people from custom roms and associate the experience with android.
android didnt nees cm to pick up steam, you have motorola’s droid ad campaign, lets hope it doesnt hurt it’s growth and get android relegated to a geek toy like most of linux
ummmm soooo whatever. CM is the best. if you dont like the custom rom, dont use it. stick with your out of the box bloatware. CM makes it easier for those of us who enjoy this sort ofthing to customize our phones and get the most out of them.
ummmmm,CM has been around since long before the droid, and there is nothing about it that is “muddying the experience”,it is improving the experience. No one is forcing you to flash it.
nice jubeh! agreed. and cm is instable!
I have a vibrant right now,I might sell it and get the nexus s when it comes out,but if it’s not a step up from the mytouch 4g,I’ll just get that instead. Or if anyone wants to trade their 4g for my vibrant, let me know. 440-973-6628 or msnuser111@yahoo.com
