For those of you thinking of switching to regional carrier Cellular South, you can now enjoy their latest Android device and Galaxy S phone the Samsung Showcase. The Samsung Showcase features what we’ve all come to know and love about the other Galaxy S phones like the 4-inch Super AMOLED display and the 1GHz Cortex A8 Hummingbird processor.

The Galaxy S Showcase is available for $199 with a new 2-year contract and if you live in an area where Cellular South has coverage, they’re running a promotion where they’ll pay your early termination fee if you switch, anyone considering heading to Cellular South for the Galaxy S Showcase?

Samsung Copies an App for the Galaxy S III, That App’s Sales Increase 600%

Just got it yesterday one for me and one for my wife. I have high expectations, since I have been so dissapointed with my iPhone. I currently have the 3G Jailbroken and overclocked it works fine, but I would expect much more from a company who’s comercials are based on bashing the competition and making fun of the PC. The problem with the iPhone is the lack of freedom given to the user to customize it to his/her needs. You get a working phone which will be excatly the same from the moment you open it out of the box to the moment you brick it and throw it away. The only thing that will change is the number of apps in it and that you will have music, but things such icon customization memory management and cpu over clocking will never be possible. iPhones tend to come underclocked out of the box, because of battery life concerns. Why if you do that wont you give power consumption options to the user like the ones found in pcs? Steve Jobs has an great smartphone for sale, but he ruins the whole thing by deciding for the custome and imposing his way of running the gadget. Well if I buy the phone then it is not Steve Job’s hone anymore and I need more freedom to customize it without having to jaibreak it and feel like I’m doing something illegal, So I switched to the Galaxy today and will say goodbye to the iPhone for good. I will post soon to let you all know how it worked.

Fixing to upgrade from a blackberry. I love the differences Galaxy S provides over the iphone. My biggest concern is battery life. You have had yours for a few weeks _ How is the battery life?

Battery life is noticeably better than the iPhone, and significantly better than a jailbroken iPhone. The Showcase is a great phone and getting away from AT&T was worth every minute of the transition.

Battery is somewhat better than in the iPhone, but not better than on the BB. I was a BB owner as well. The thing is that for the few hours I have my phone disconnected, I don’t really mind an extremely long battery life. What I care the most is the quality, and Galaxy has far better visual quality when it comes to color and brightness, when comared to the iPhone. I know the iPhone argues about how much better their retina display is, but do we really care about that I care about how vibrant colors are. The phone is much better period. You should also look into the BB torch which I was considering for the longest time. Is an excellent option.

No flash player not worth the money if you want to view any content on the web.

It has flash but doesn’t use the correct browser plugin. You can play flash videos but only if they are stored locally.

Total piece of crap. We are running on Android 2.1 I heard that 2.3 is about to be released and I still don’t have 2.2. What’s the hold up? If I don’t get the update soon I won’t ever buy another Samsung product ever. I’m irritated about my out of date cell phone.
