CES 2011: Must-Have Application

0

Core-apps has put together an application called 2011 Consumer Electronic Show. It is also known as Follow Me and is the official application for the 2011 International CES, which will be held from January 6th – 9th, 2011. As an average consumer this application is not directed to you. Although the Twitter part could be useful for those of you that wish you could be at the event.

A brief history, CES is the single largest Consumer Electronic Show in the world. It is held once a year in Las Vegas Nevada. There are generally close to 3000 different companies from around the world that attend this event to showcase the latest and greatest in consumer electronics. What does this mean for the average consumer? A lot really, if you take into account the fact that Nintendo debuted its original system at CES years ago. Same with the Xbox and I believe the Xbox 360. Many people also got to see the future of HD TVs two years before the general population even knew they existed. It is pretty much the event of the year for any tech nerd or guru.

Part of the AndroidSPIN team will be present at the event this year so if you are not following us on Twitter please do: @AndroidSPIN, @openandroidmove, @cynikaloptimist, @AllenMKiehl, @SimonNWalker. I am also sure you should follow @intlCES as well.

On to the application for the attendees. I would suggest downloading this application now so you can get your schedule integrated and get a feel for the application. The feature list of this application can help make or break your experience.

  • My Schedule – Keep track of the events you want to attend.
  • Events – You can review a list of current events and mark them to add to your schedule.
  • Speakers – See who is speaking and about what, then mark them to add to your schedule.
  • Exhibitors – Take a look at all the exhibitors, what they have to offer and where they are located.
  • Maps – A full map of the entire conference.
  • Alerts – Stay up to date with what is happening and send yourself updates for events.
  • Twitter – Follow what is going on in the event and from everyone else.

It seems to be a pretty well laid out application. Since it is the official app for the event I would suggest you grab the application below if you are attending. More information located at core-apps.com.

Time for an update. I am the proud father of three, 2, 8, and 11. I finally just moved up from the Samsung Vibrant to the Samsung Galaxy S III...... Let me tell you, it is mind blowing. I love Android, I love tech and I love my family. Not in that order though. I work to hard, play even harder and take care of all that are around me when I can.
