As you probably know, Team Douche has taken up the arduous task of porting CM6 onto the Samsung Vibrant. While many devices on their roster have already seen a CM6 port, the Vibrant is yet to have a functional CM 6.1 build. Just recently, @thedudesandroid and @jeagoss of Team Douche were able to successfully boot CyanogenMod 6.1 onto the device. It is still far away from becoming an official nightly release because the build is plagued with bugs - it is just not ready for everyday use. Rather than a short list of what works, how about a list of what does NOT work:
Not yet working:
- Bluetooth capabilities
- GPS not yet enabled
- Phone Settings such as the ability to hang up a call, but SMS works
- Audio, Headphone jack setting are reversed, when a headphone is plugged in, it will play from speaker phone and vice versa
- CM Parts needs to be customized to fit for Samsung
- Tethering USB/Wi-Fi not functioning
- Back and front (if installed) Camera have black/white preview, however the actual pictures will be in color
Definitely not ready. I am not sure how much time it will take until we see a fully functioning version of CyanogenMod for the Samsung Vibrant. I know many Vibrant users out there are dying to get their hands on CM. With Team Douche there is hope!
This build replaces Samsung’s proprietary RFS file system with the Linux-native EXT3. A lot of work is needed! Check out the Cyanogen Forums on this build which has been conveniently titled ‘CyanogenMod-6.1 for GT-I9000: Holy crap, it’s full of BUGS!’.

YES.
YES.
Actually, I haven’t missed CM too much thanks to eugene and sobionix. I think they are and will be the official go to guys for anything vibrant!
I absolutely agree, Eugene’s Macnut_12 (Froyo) rom is SO EFFICIENT running on my Vibrant, I def recommend.
I was tired waiting for cm to release any rom for the vibrant.
Now who cares, Sobionix has the best rom for are vibrant and I don’t believe cm will be able to make anything better than Sobionix.
My phone now is really fast and I have 0 lag.
Sobionix is ROCK
