Although there is not a lot to say here other than the fact that Dell has confirmed that the Android 2.2 update for the Dell Streak has been delayed due to AT&T. It appears once again that AT&T is the culprit in delaying the update. On a small note, I really wish carriers would get their stuff together in order to provide updates in a timely manner, however life ain’t always what you want it. Dell is stating that Dell Streak users should see Android 2.2 (Froyo) sometime next month. Let’s hope so for all you Streak users out there.
Are you tired of all these carriers holding up the update process? Do you wish the manufacturer would allow you to download the update from them once it is available? Let us know what you think about this in the comments below.

I wonder if this is also why the UK O2 update to Froyo is not out.
It is really tiresome and makes a mockery of Android’s capability to be updated in comparison with another famous touchscreen make. While Android sales will continue their extraordinary growth and stuff like this is unlikely to deter the masses, it is frustrating in the extreme for anyone with any knowledge of the platform.
Google claim to want to halt the fragmentation of Android. Well, here is their opportunity. So get on with it!
I think in one aspect, Dell made a sorry choice for choosing exclusivity with only one carrier. Hopefully, they will learn from this with their next phone.
Read this on Friday afternoon, got home from work, downloaded the QDL tool and said screw at&t, now I’m running 2.2 (and without the at&t garbage).
