I think the Nexus One deserves the title of Hottest Android Phone of 2010. It came out at the beginning of the year and still manages to keep up with the hardware demands of the latest ROMs and memory intensive apps. Also, its sleek design and aluminum body are a perfect balance of form and function. It continues to be an invariable contender against the newest devices. After all, it did become the official android developer phone.

HTC hit a home run with this phone. If only Google marketed it better…

HTC Evo. Seriously. The first 4G phone (we can argue about the merits of that label later). The first 4″ screen. First real contender from a major carrier against the iphone and continues to hold its weight today. I absolutely love this phone. I love the Sprint carrier too. At $79.99/mo you can’t beat it with a stick for unlimited wireless/data/texting. Really – you can’t.

dude im paying $55 for the same shit at tmobile and better service inside. sprint signal dies inside every building

      • Kevin Stagg says:

Not sure how that is possible considering there is no individual plan at tmobile for $55/mo: http://goo.gl/WgTQw (t-mobile site) and the unlimited mobile to mobile with tmobile is only to other tmobile customers which is a big FAIL. With Sprint, they don’t care which carrier the other person is with that you are talking to.

Oh, and the TRUE unlimited talk/text/data plan I am on which is $79.99 with Sprint? It’s still $20 cheaper than the T-Mobile option offered (see link above).

Not sure where you live, but I have great reception here in Dallas. Better than I ever had with AT&T.

How the F can you choose the Nexus one to be the 2010 phone when it was first released with so many problems. I own the N1 and still do. but I will not vote it as a 2010 phone. samsung G-S just came out and has not been really pushed to its limits. The HTC Evo was by far the best contender of all Android phones to date. This is not talking about network providers. This is down to the core. hardware and specs, speed, cleaness, thin, screen size, and quality. The Htc Evo has it all. Ive owned the G1, G2, Mytouch 3g, Mytouch HD, Motorola X, and most resently the HTC Evo. I enjoy the Evo very much. With one bar of signal I still get 3g speeds. when I hit a 4g area im hitting 10 to 15 mbs, and thats driving. not standing somewere hoping to get good results to brag about. I have clearly tested many Android phones for my own use and found the Evo to be the best til now, and still holding strong.

We can choose the Nexus One because it really was the hottest phone of 2010. It wasn’t the greatest and it didn’t come without problems but it was THE Google phone. There was so much hype in the blogs and the mainstream media on the Nexus One. When is the last time that an Android phone received so much attention? It may have been more fail than fun but it was the hottest phone by a long shot.

      • Myoung7997 says:

Do you guys even no the difference between hottest and best phone. The nexus one should be dead last when talking about the hottest because it failed when it came to sales and everyone knows that. there is one nexus one per 20 galaxy s and evo phones.Hottest means most popular phone and hands down is the galaxy s because it sold more units than any other android phone.

        • Brian Kirby says:

Hottest, in my opinion, is not the same as sales. The Nexus One was simply THE most hyped phone ever. It was the Google Phone. In fact, the G1 was the only phone possibly hyped more than the Nexus One. The Nexus S sells better because 1: Google is selling it in actual stores and 2: Android is much more popular now than it was before.

haha there’s so much hate in these comments. the only two i’d even consider are the nexus one and evo. nexus one revolutionized the mobile market–there’s no arguing that. the first phone to show the world the power of a 1ghz processor, amoled screen, etc. and it really put android on the map. but it did have it’s problems, and those problems seem to have been fixed with the evo. the evo also upped the game with a higher resolution camera, a ffc, and a larger screen. both devices are great, i have to give a slight edge to the evo.

    • dcheng11 says:

before i start getting flamed, i don’t consider the galaxy s to be the hottest device because it completely fails with dev support. android is open source, so it’s a given that there are going to be a ton of mods out there, and the galaxy s’s dev base is close to none. the evo and nexus one, on the other hand, have huge amounts of devs working on the devices.

  10. Glorfindalgone says:

i’d like to get a bit more specific and say galaxy epic, the power of a galaxy s with a physical keyboard And front facing camera, only problem is that it is only cdma, why not gsm!!

  11. Kpleasants1 says:

The. Galaxy S Fascinated is the best Android. Phone. That Smiled screen and its size. Its the smoothest running Droid.

  12. Chrismonks1 says:

    desire rukes

  13. Montiz333 says:

EPIC 4G ALL DAY BABY!!!! Aka galaxy S

  14. Jerzeeloon says:

Galaxy s vibrant is the best android device Ive ever owned.

  15. Yankee 503 says:

Maybe not the hottest but I believe the Mytouch 4G is the most underrated.

  16. Method115 says:

I’ve owned both the Vibrant and the EVO and there is no contest Evo wins hands down. FFC (not that I give a shit I think it’s pointless). Android 2.2, an incredible dev community, 4G need I go on? The Vibrants screen is amazing though, but my EVO comes close enough.

  17. Byrd Chai says:

HTC Desire HD, simply the best for this year.

  18. Indbussolutions says:

The Galaxy S category should be broken down per phone.

  19. Tim-o-tato says:

Errr, I think you missed one. Ever heard of the Droid X? lol :P

  20. Helena Rico says:

Galaxy S looks like an iPhone is nice… I have HTC Evo, awesome phone! But I have to say is a little bulky xD

  21. Seth says:
