Yes you read that title correctly. The absolute most important feature in my book on any device is storage. 32GB is nice, 48GB is awesome, 250GB IS ROCKIN’! I mean seriously, what else could you need? Well, Archos delivers more then just a huge amount of storage in their latest Internet tablet:
- Device runs Android 2.2 Froyo
- ARM Cortex A8 at 1 GHz with DSP
- Graphic accelerator: 3D OpenGL ES 2.0
- Built in web cam
- 36 hours of music playback
- 7 hours of Video playback
- 10 hours of web surfing
- HDMI out put via mini HDMI to HDMI (cable sold separately)
- Max resolution 1280 x 720 pixels on a 7 inch capacitive touch screen
- 8 GB flash memory + Micro SD Slot (SDHC compatible)
- Hard Drive: 250 GB Hard Drive

That is only a few of the features that are available in this lightweight and slim little tablet. According to the Archos website, the 8GB version is set to go for $279.99, with the 250GB version set at a mere $349.99. Those prices look pretty good to me for something this amazing. Currently you can’t actually order one of these from the site’s store. You can, however, get your name and e-mail address put in to receive an update when it does become available to order.
Anyone else ready to pass up a Galaxy Tab for one of these bad boys?

I would love one of these bad boys
yea i am DEFINITELY buying a 250gb version as soon as it drops.
you can go for the Archos 101 with 8gb and expandable sd storage for only 299 on amazon (actually sold out now but it has been in and out of stock 3 times in the past month at that price). They also have usb so you can use any external hard drive. You really dont need the 250 GB version. Or you could go for the lighter 8gb Archos 70. Same features
see i didnt even know this came out yet cause on there website it only has a notify me button but i just brought one for about $345 on just4electronics it should be here tuesday
how do you access an external hd when it’s hooked up?
dang, this is impressive. i’m not a big fan of tablets, but man these specs look nice.
True..tablets arent really that useful. Only cause Apple decided to make the oversized ipod touch has the tablet craziness entered the market…they are pretty much glorified e-readers. The only place I think that they actually come in handy is at Dana Farber Cancer institute. They lend out iPads to patients and relatives in the waiting room to pass time and have free wifi.I think that is really nice of them. Otherwise I would reccomend a tablet netbook at 10.1 “. That is a different story
I am typing this on my 8gb archos 70. I am in love with it. The 250 gb model is a little heavier. For me it wasnt worth it. I have 8gb internal plus 32gb sd card. These devices connect with smb and play media flawlessly from a windows 7 box. Good luck finding one though. They are hard to find.
it is available on amazon with fee shipping…definetly worth it..although you are right, the 8gb model with a 32 gb card does the trick too and is lighter.
doesit build in gsm
no gsm built in..just wifi, but if you have wifi tethering on your phone you are good to go
I looked on the website, and it said that you can use 3.5G Bluetooth to connect it to the internet or connect your phone via usb.
Well I am assuming the 3G Bluetooth would be a dongle from a provider like AT&T, verizon or T-mobile which would be like a 3g data card for laptops so it would require some sort of service contract. So the device is capable (like a laptop basically through the 3g laptop cards, USB or PCI) but it does not have it built in like an iPad where you just put a sim card for example.
As for the usb through phone, that is definitly only if your phone has usb thethering capabilities. Custom roms for android tend to do and you can use, bluetooth, usb or wifi for the tethering. however keep in mind that due to the larger screen resolution your data throughput will be larger and the “unlimitted” data plans service providers have are anything but… AT&T has a 2GB limit and then charges beyond that and T-mobile has 5 GB cap. However the good thing about T-mobile is that when you reach the 5GB in a month, they dont charge you for over usage, they just throttle it. So far in my experience I have gone over a few times and it still gets decent speeds for browsing and emails on the phone after the limit has been reached and in your new billing cycle it resets. You can even monitor it online when in doubt
it’s a TABLET, not a phone. why would you ask if it has GSM?
Because the iPad (Which is a tablet not a phone…although I guess it really does seem like an oversized iPhone
) has an option for a 3G and WiFi model or just the WiFi version. He wanted to know if this has such capabilities. (not saying the iPad is better…just saying)
Ok. I may have to skip the Galaxy Tab for this. The specs got me drolling!
just got one on shop nbc for 163 bucks!!!
